Starting Over:

This has several meanings.  First I haven’t blogged for a long time.  Partly because I have made a lot of changes this past couple of years.  The biggest transition is my move to Maryland.  Ric had been in Maryland for a couple of years while I stayed behind to take care of Sevrine.  We decided that I could come out in July of 2012 sense Colleen’s situation was going to change later that year.  I was torn because I didn’t want to leave what I felt comfortable with and the challenges of relocating to the east coast.  Once decided I packed up a couple of suitcases and flew out to meet Ric.  The next big change was to start working full time.  Ric got permission from his bosses to hire me for the transition of closing one store and opening a new location.  The timetable was extended and I was trained in a CSR position. I have had a slow/gradual learning curve and will be celebrating my year with Gerber on the 15 of this month.  I am still adjusting to being a working girl.  I miss my independence and a life that I was comfortable in for all these years.  I have realized, working in Maryland, away from my former life is a lot easier than trying to make the change in Arizona. Another change is moving to our own little apartment in the basement of a home not far from work.  With joining Ric, the one room that he had rented no longer fit our needs and we needed more space. This meant a new ward which I looked forward to attending.

At Christmas, Ric and I traveled back to Arizona and packed up the rest of the house.  We shipped a small pod out to Maryland and put a few things in storage and got rid of the rest.  I am still heartbroken over the loss of my things.  I can’t begin to explain the feelings of all the things that got thrown out, sold or given away. I will just say that a part of me died. I didn't sew pj's for the kids sense I didn't have my sewing machine but they liked the Angry bird pj's I got for them.

The next change is being asked to work in the Washington DC Temple.  Ric and I were set apart to be ordinance workers on the Saturday evening shift.  This has taken a bit of adjustment.  I have needed to rearrange weekend plans as well as learn the responsibilities that are required in volunteering at the Temple.  I am settling in and find it rewarding when we can be there together.

We have added to our family.  In November, Colleen and Jeff got married.  Colleen moved to San Antonio after Jeff’s deployment and married soon after.  Marissa and John eloped in February (we knew and approved) and then were sealed in June when they originally planned. Everyone came out for Marissa and John's reception and sealing.  Loved having everyone here and seeing the grand kids.
Marissa looked so beautiful in her dressing.  She is happy and we are happy that we can be close by to share in this wonderful time of her life.
If you ask anyone that knows me, I do not like change.  It is hard. I am trying to see the good in being here. Being close to Marissa and John, and other family has made this a little easier.
